Legacy Homes of Pueblo was founded by Marvin D. Haney, a long time resident of Pueblo, Colorado.  Originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, Mr. Haney traveled West in the early 1970’s and settled on Pueblo as his home.  During the 1970’s and early 80’s building was strong and real estate was active.  But it didn’t last for long.  Rising interest rates, an economic resession, and the layoffs of the steel mill caused Pueblo’s economy to change.

During the latter part of the 1980’s, Mr. Haney focused on selling real estate and pursued a life long dream of engaging in growing trees, shrubs and various plants.  He successfully operated Desert Flower Nursery and patiently waited for the housing market to recover.  It took a few years, and finally, in 1991-92 building started to pick up again.

Building one home at a time and being very careful not to over extend his resources (financially and personally), Mr. Haney was able to move from a small 12?x12? office space with an arm full of blueprints to a model home.  Not far from the main entrance of HWY 50 and McCulloch, Legacy Homes of Pueblo officially made it’s presence known.

For over 10 years, Marvin built top quality homes at an exceptional value.  Mr. Haney built each home and carefully establishied trusting and  lasting relationships with his subcontractors.  The word was known that Marvin was building an exceptional home at a great value.  It was known that Legacy Homes of Pueblo was not considered a “Custom Builder”, but Marvin was dedicated to building and adapting the floor plans for each customer’s need.

Residential construction was very good during the early part of the turn of the century, but time had worn on Marvin.  He decided that it was time to retire.  After several conversations with his son, Branson, the continuation of Legacy Homes of Pueblo was secured.  In 2002, after graduating from Daniels College of Business with an MBA from the University of Denver, Branson A. Haney, made the obvious choice.  He returned home to Pueblo to run the family business.  It was an obvious choice, because he grew up watching every move his father made in good times and bad times.

Many years have passed since Marvin was at the helm, but the dedication to quality and value still remain.

We are a family owned business and we love building! ….and it shows!  One might say it’s “just in our blood.”

Let us build your next home.  We strive to build the best homes in Southern Colorado.  Our homes use the best products available and are up to date with the latest in Building Code Requirements.  Don’t you deserve the best in quality and value backed by a solid family owned business?
